Prof. Łukasz GawełActing Director
Prof. Łukasz Gaweł – theatrologist specialising in managing cultural heritage and public cultural institutions. Lecturer and scholar at the Jagiellonian University, production manager in the Kluszczyński Publishing House in Cracow (1994-2005), Deputy Head (2008-2012), then Head (2012-2016) of the Institute of Culture at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University. Between 2016 and 2019 he was the Deputy Director for Strategy, Development and Communications of the National Museum in Cracow. Since 2019 he has been the Acting Director of the National Museum in Warsaw. Author of numerous publications concerning cultural management as well as the „Practical Course of Photography” and Stanisław Wyspiański biography - ”Stanisław Wyspiański. Na chęciach mi nie braknie”. In his work he is particularly interested in using cultural heritage in the context of preserving the authenticity of the site and the issue of modern museum exhibitions.
